Where to go near our Villa

Beaches

Our house is located 10 -15 minutes drive away from the many beaches in Costa Blanca, Spain. The nearest are Playa Campomar and Guardamar.
These comprise of:

  • Playa Centro, Guardamar, this half kilometre beach with fine sand and clear waters bordered by natural beaches La Babilonia and La Roqueta is located on the southern boundary of dunes in Guardamar (the nearest area to the town centre). Beach accessible to people with reduced mobility.
  • La Roqueta Beach, Guardamar is bordered on the north by beach Centro and on the south by beach El Moncayo. Its fine golden sand, the quality of its waters and its services make it very attractive.
  • La Zenia Beach is of fine golden sand with clear waters. One of the creeks Cala Bosque, has been adapted for people with reduced mobility.
  • Flamenca Beach (Estaca Cove) is a beach cove composed of fine white sand, located in a semi-urban area with high-density population in the summer time.
  • Playa de la Mata is the longest beach in Torrevieja. In addition to its fine and golden sand within which Laguna de La Mata Nature Reserve stands out. The Reserve has an information centre offering interesting routes to get to know the salt marshes.
  • Cura Beach is located between Punta Margallo and the northern dike of an important port, of fine and golden sand and with a beautiful palm environment.
  • Cap Roig is recommended.

Markets

Either you can love them, or you hate them. Sometimes it is necessary to visit them, an experience not to be missed. They can also be exciting and full of atmosphere; fantastic smells come from many mobile food stalls offering delights from many countries. It is good to remember Spain on the Costa’s has become home to many different nationalities from all over the world, and the markets have become a general meeting place for them all.

Terra Mitica Theme Park

The Paramount Theme Park is located in Finestrate near Benidorm, an hour’s drive from the house but a great day out for all the family. The theme park is broken up into four themed areas and hosts over 80 shows daily with rides such as The Magnus Colossus (the largest wooden rollercoaster in the Mediterranean) and waterslides, rapids, big wheels, train, vertical drop and many more.

A Paramount Park that is located against the mountain hill inland the village Finestrate near Benidorm. It is an hour’s drive but a great day out for all the family.

Go Karting

Go-Karts Orihuela is situated just beyond Punta Prima, Torrevieja. The track is open every day from 11.00am. Go- Karting is great fun for all the family and there are special baby karts and track for 5 to 10 year olds.

Bike Hire

Dial-a-bike
This is a hire company that offers a ‘deliver to the door’ service based in the Torrevieja area, they will deliver the choice of bike to you at a convenient time. They are open for business 7 days a week and have a range of cycles to suit all ages and all aspects of the local terrain.

While they normally require only 24 hours notice for you to hire cycles, booking in advance will ensure you get the bike to suit your requirement, at even better prices.

Horse Riding

There is a number of horse riding facilities, but here are 4 within the area. Further information and leaflets are provided at the property.

  • Dehesa De Campoamor is a little tricky to find but well worth the effort. Instructors speak Spanish and French. For English ask to speak to Isabella.
  • Club Hipico This is past San Miguel and on the way to Villa Martin, near the golf course. For the entrance drive to the stables and there is an uphill track on the left. Lessons are provided, or groups of up to 4 people can ride out into the countryside.
  • El Rancho, this equestrian centre opened in 2005 and is run by a couple from Sweden. As well as the horse riding there is a restaurant, and large swimming pool with sun lounger's and poolside bar. There are instructors available for beginners and lessons available.

Scuba Diving

Scuba world is a small professional dive education centre, where personal attention and safety comes first. They are located in Playa Flamenca. This is in the Torrevieja area on the Costa Blanca. The instructors of Scuba world are associated with PADI.
